Let me tell you what this special event is and how I discovered it.

In April 2009…

The worst thing in business happened to me.

I hosted an event in my hometown of Delaware…

I promoted it on Facebook and sent emails to my list…

And spent 3-5 hours each day preparing for this event.

I delivered so much value during the event and poured my heart out.

Guess how many people attended?

250.

“Wow, Darnyelle. 250 people!”

Hang on…

Each person paid only $25, so I did $6,250 in total revenue.

Before the event started, I had paid $6000 for the hotel, the food, the decor and everything else.

That’s when reality hit and I sat my self down, thinking rapidly,

“Girl, you’re in trouble. Just $250 in profits and the event will close in 2 hours. Watcha gonna do?”​

So I came up with a quick plan to make some more money and went back out.

I talked about my books, sold them like my life depended on it.

Out of the 250 people, just 20 people bought my books and they paid me $150.

Let’s calculate the profits together, shall we?

$250 from the $6,250, plus the extra $150 makes $400 in profits.

That was all I made and when I got home, I was so exhausted and drained.

My money was gone, and the $400 was practically useless.

If you’ve hosted an event before…

You know how frustrating this is.

When I finally rested for 3 days, I wondered:

Why didn’t I make money? Why didn’t I even make just $5,000 or $10,000 in profits?

Was it because I had just 250 attendees?

Or did I charge people too high? No, it wasn’t too high.

$25 is pretty good. Or maybe it was too cheap.

Maybe I should have charged $50 instead.

Or what was wrong about the event? Was the decor bland?

Maybe next time I should hire an event manager.

No, those guys charge a hell lot.

You know what? I’m never hosting events again until I know how to make a boatload of money from events.

The problem was that I was hosting an ordinary event…

Like most entrepreneurs do.

So when I launched my next event in 2011, I hosted an ENROLLMENT EVENT.

When you host an enrollment event, your plan is to sign high-ticket clients during that event.

For example, I host 2 events every year…

I’ve heard a few entrepreneurs tell me that pricing and negotiations scare them a bit.

Sometimes, you decide to allow just a few attendees in, because you believe that placing a cap on the number of people will create scarcity and urgency.

I’ve had events without limiting my audience and still made millions.

So you don’t have to worry about having 30,000 followers on Instagram (heck, I have only 17k right now)

You don’t need to launch a podcast or TikTok account to get attendees. Your attendees will not be your past clients or customers only, either.
